The Su-27 Flanker is a heavy fighter built by sukhoi during the cold war. The Flanker, as it is known within NATO, entered service during the 80’s to face the USAF F-15 Eagle and the USN F-14 Tomcat. In spite of its size and weight, the Su-27 is extremely agile, have a powerfull pulse doppler radar, long rage without air to air refueling and can carry up to 10 air to air missiles, including short range infrared (ir) guided R-73 and medium range R-27 in both versions, infrared and semi-active radar.
Once the Soviet Union disappeared, around 70 Su-27 fighters were based at Ukraine, and since then, these fighters have been the core of its Air Defense.
The videos (recorded in 4K (UHD)) and photos included, were taken during the RIAT 2018 Air Show, and it can be seen the powerful air display carried out by a Su-27P Flanker of the Ukranian Air Force.
