Airshow Display carried out by BAE Systems test Pilot Nate Makepeace in one of the prototypes used by the company to develop the “Centurion Project” concept, which represent the next step in the integration of weapons and capabilities within the Royal Air Force (RAF)Typhoon Force.
Centurion Project includes the integration of the air to ground missile Brimstone and the cruise missile Storm Shadow, both needed to make the Typhoon able to replace the missions carried out by the RAF Tornado GR4 Force, which is set to be retired by the end of 2019. Project Centurion also includes the integration of the new Meteor long range air to air missile. The video shows a display of a “Centurion” configured Typhoon flying at the edge of its flight envelope fully loaded with swing role weapons (2 short range AAM ASRAAM, 4 long range AAM Meteor, 2 LGB GBU-12, 6 brimstone missiles, and 2 external fuel tanks). The pictures and videos were taken at the Royal International Air Tattoo and at the Farnborough International Airshow, both shows take place in the United Kingdom. The video from Farnborough includes in cockpit footage taken with a Go Pro, this footage was released by BAE SYSTEMS.
